Sponsor A Child
The Sponsor-A-Child program allows the students to take full advantage of the opportunities for intellectual, spiritual, and emotional growth offered at St. Augustine Indian Mission. However, because the majority of the families simply cannot cover the costs associated with their child?s education, the Sponsor A Child program is vital to the success of the Mission and your help to support the children of St. Augustine Indian Mission is greatly needed. Please read how you can help to provide the best education possible for our students.
St. Augustine Indian Mission strives to give our children the best education possible. Costs to educate and feed these children of God continue hover around $5,000 per student. Families of St. Augustine students do not have the means necessary to pay the entire cost, although they are asked to make a nominal donation of $500. Seventy percent of students qualify for free or reduced lunch.
St. Augustine Indian Mission relies on the generosity of our benefactors to help defray these costs through our Sponsor-A-Child Program. Through this program, prospective donors can sponsor one or more children with a gift of $5,000 each. Donors are then assigned to a specific student whose progress throughout the year can be measured. Students are asked to write to their sponsor regularly and donor and child are formally introduced at a recognition luncheon held each spring. It is a moving experience when child and donor meet and a fulfilling experience for those who generously give to the program.
The Sponsor-A-Child program is a wonderful way to help the Mission, and allows you, the donor, the opportunity to get to know the children of St. Augustine?s. If you are interested in sponsoring a child, please download the Sponsorship Form and return it to the Mission office. We will then contact you to provide you with an update on your child.
